Licensing Policy

MUDARRISA: Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan Islam is committed to the responsible dissemination of scholarly knowledge through open-access publishing. The journal supports the principles of accessibility, transparency, and responsible knowledge sharing by allowing the noncommercial use, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation of published research in accordance with internationally recognized open-access licensing standards and the applicable Creative Commons license conditions.

1. Creative Commons Licensing

Articles published in MUDARRISA: Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan Islam are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

This license allows users to share, reproduce, distribute, and adapt published materials for noncommercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given to the original authors, the initial publication in the journal is acknowledged, and any adaptations that are shared are distributed under the same license or a license officially designated as compatible by Creative Commons.

Commercial use of licensed materials is not permitted under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 unless separate authorization is obtained from the relevant rights holder or the intended use is otherwise permitted by applicable law.

2. Permitted Reuse

The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license permits users to:

Share: Copy and redistribute licensed materials in any medium or format for noncommercial purposes.
Adapt: Remix, transform, translate, and build upon licensed materials for noncommercial purposes, provided that adaptations distributed to others comply with the applicable ShareAlike requirements.
Use for Noncommercial Purposes: Reuse licensed materials for educational, scholarly, research, and other activities that are not primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation, subject to the applicable license conditions.

These permissions are granted without requiring additional authorization from the copyright holder, provided that users comply with the attribution, NonCommercial, ShareAlike, and other applicable conditions of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

The license facilitates the dissemination of scholarly findings, encourages academic collaboration, and supports the development of educational resources and derivative research within the permitted noncommercial framework.

3. License Conditions

The use and redistribution of articles published under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 are subject to the following conditions:

Attribution: Users must provide appropriate credit to the original authors, acknowledge MUDARRISA: Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan Islam as the original publication venue, provide a link to the Creative Commons license, and indicate whether modifications have been made. Attribution must not imply endorsement by the original authors or publisher.

NonCommercial: Users may not exercise the licensed rights for purposes primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation. Commercial reproduction, distribution, or adaptation of licensed materials requires separate permission from the relevant rights holder unless the intended activity is otherwise permitted by applicable law.

ShareAlike: When users remix, transform, translate, or build upon licensed materials and distribute the resulting adaptations, they must license their contributions under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 or a license officially designated as compatible by Creative Commons. The original attribution and applicable licensing information must be preserved.

No Additional Restrictions: Users may not impose additional legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from exercising the rights granted under the license.

Commercial Use Restrictions: The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license does not grant permission for commercial exploitation of licensed materials. Parties seeking to use such materials for commercial purposes must obtain any necessary authorization from the relevant rights holder, except where the intended use is permitted independently of the license.

4. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright to their original scholarly works in accordance with the journal's Copyright Policy and applicable publication agreements.

By publishing in MUDARRISA, authors grant the journal the necessary non-exclusive rights to publish, reproduce, disseminate, index, and preserve their scholarly contributions.

Authors retain the right to reuse, distribute, and further develop their own scholarly works in accordance with their retained copyright, applicable publication agreements, and any rights granted to third parties.

The application of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to the journal or publisher. The license grants the public specified rights to use the licensed materials under its established conditions while preserving the authors' copyright ownership.

5. Third-Party Materials

The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license applies to the original scholarly content covered by the article's licensing statement.

Third-party materials, including photographs, illustrations, figures, tables, research instruments, and other copyrighted content, may be subject to separate licensing arrangements when expressly excluded from the article's Creative Commons license.

Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions to reproduce third-party materials when such use is not otherwise legally permitted and for providing appropriate copyright acknowledgments.

Users must respect any separate copyright notices or licensing restrictions associated with third-party materials. The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license does not automatically grant rights over third-party content that is not included within the scope of the license.

6. Repository and Scholarly Sharing

MUDARRISA encourages authors to disseminate their published research through institutional repositories, personal academic websites, scholarly networks, and other legitimate research dissemination platforms.

Authors may deposit and distribute their published articles, including the final published version, provided that the applicable copyright, publication agreement, and licensing conditions are respected.

Third parties may share and redistribute licensed articles through repositories and scholarly platforms for noncommercial purposes, subject to the attribution and other applicable requirements of CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

Repository deposits and subsequent dissemination should include appropriate acknowledgment of the original publication, complete bibliographic information, a link to the published article where available, and clear identification of the applicable Creative Commons license.

The journal supports responsible self-archiving, noncommercial scholarly sharing, and the long-term accessibility of scholarly publications.

7. Previously Published Articles

The applicable license for each published article is determined by the licensing statement and publication agreement associated with that article.

The adoption of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license does not automatically replace, revoke, or modify the licensing terms of previously published articles.

Articles published under earlier licensing arrangements remain subject to their respective licenses unless changes are lawfully authorized and appropriately documented. Rights previously granted under an applicable Creative Commons license generally remain available in accordance with that license's terms.

MUDARRISA is committed to ensuring transparency and consistency between its Licensing Policy, Copyright Policy, and licensing information displayed on individual article pages.

8. Licensing Transparency and Compliance

MUDARRISA ensures that licensing information is publicly accessible and clearly communicated to authors, readers, researchers, and other users.

The applicable Creative Commons license should be displayed consistently on the journal's website, within individual article publication records, and in published article files where appropriate.

Authors and users are responsible for complying with the applicable licensing conditions, including attribution, restrictions on commercial use, ShareAlike obligations, and respect for the intellectual property rights of all contributors.

The editorial office will periodically review the journal's licensing practices to maintain consistency with its open-access publishing framework, publication ethics, copyright policies, and applicable legal requirements.
