1. Manuscript Withdrawal

Authors may request the withdrawal of a manuscript before it is formally published, provided that the withdrawal is made in good faith and does not violate any copyright, licensing, or publication agreement.

Authors should submit a formal withdrawal request to the Editor, stating the reason for withdrawal.

Withdrawal should not be used for unethical purposes, such as submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals or withdrawing a manuscript simply to submit it elsewhere after receiving peer-review feedback.

2. Withdrawal After Peer Review or Acceptance

If an author requests withdrawal after substantial peer review or editorial work has been completed, including after acceptance, REGISTER Journal may charge an administrative fee of Rp500,000.

The fee covers reasonable costs associated with services already provided, including:

  • Editorial processing and manuscript management

  • Peer-review and reviewer administrative services

  • Technical editing and formatting

The fee is not a penalty. It represents reasonable compensation for professional services already provided by the journal.

Any withdrawal request will be considered by the editor on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the stage of publication and the circumstances of the request.

3. Published Articles: Retraction

Once an article has been formally published, it is not treated as a manuscript withdrawal. Any necessary removal from the scholarly record will be handled through the journal's Correction or Retraction Policy.

Retraction may be considered when there is clear evidence of, for example:

  • Serious errors that make the findings unreliable

  • Plagiarism or significant duplicate publication

  • Fabrication or falsification of data

  • Serious research or publication ethics violations

  • Other circumstances that substantially compromise the integrity of the published article

Retraction decisions will follow appropriate publication-ethics procedures, including investigation of the concerns and, where appropriate, giving the authors an opportunity to respond.

A retracted article will normally remain part of the scholarly record and will be clearly identified as “Retracted,” with a retraction notice explaining the reason for the decision.

4. Editorial Principle

REGISTER Journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. Withdrawal, correction, and retraction decisions will therefore be handled fairly and consistently in accordance with recognized publication-ethics principles, including relevant COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) guidance.
