About the Journal

REGISTER JOURNAL1979-8903 (PRINT) - 2503-040X (ONLINE), The Journal of English for Islamic Educational Institutions and Moslem Communities aims to provide a dedicated platform for the dissemination of research, best practices, and innovative approaches related to the teaching and learning of English within Islamic educational contexts. The journal focuses on enhancing the quality of English education in Islamic schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions while also considering Muslim learners' unique cultural, religious, and linguistic needs.

This journal has been published every June and December by Universitas Islam Negeri Salatiga, Indonesia and accredited by the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (RistekDikti) in SINTA (Achieving SINTA 2) since April 7, 2022. The recognition was published in the Director Decree (SK No. 105/E/KPT/2022), effective until 2025. This journal was successfully indexed in CLARIVATE ANALYTICS Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of Web of Science in June 2019. It is also indexed in Pakistani HJRS Journal indexing.

Intending to improve quality since October 19, 2016, this journal officially cooperated with ELITE Association Indonesia (The Association of Teachers of English Linguistics, Literature & Education). See The MoU Manuscript.

Concerning the new focus and scope that emphasizes REGISTER JOURNAL as the Journal of English for Islamic Educational Institutions and Moslem Communities, since 2024, this journal has collaborated with IARELTII (Indonesian Association on Research in English Language Teaching at Islamic Institutions), a professional community focusing on English research and teaching in Islamic contexts.

1. The Editor does not issue PDF Letters of Acceptance (LoA). LoA is issued solely via the official REGISTER JOURNAL email: register@uinsalatiga.ac.id.

2. The Editor reserves the right to request contributors to omit, reformulate, or reword their manuscripts or any part thereof to comply with the journal's publication policy.

Three F.A.Q (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Is the journal currently accepting article submissions for publication?

Yes, the journal is currently accepting articles for the December 2025 edition (Vol. 18 No. 2), with the submission deadline set for 15 September 2025 (ejournal.uinsalatiga.ac.id).
This serves as the most recent Call for Papers announcement from the journal (ejournal.uinsalatiga.ac.id).

2. What is the review process and the estimated publication timeline?

According to the Submissions page, authors are required to log in or register and submit their manuscripts in accordance with the Submission Preparation Checklist. After submission, the journal applies a double-blind peer review system (ejournal.uinsalatiga.ac.id).
This review process is fully anonymous, meaning that both the authors’ and the reviewers’ identities remain undisclosed (ejournal.uinsalatiga.ac.id).

  • Regular Review Process: Approximately 4–5 months.

  • Fast Track Review Process: Initial decision (proceed or reject) is given within 6–8 weeks.

3. Are there any publication fees for the Fast Track option?

In the Announcements section for the December 2025 issue, it is stated that the Article Processing Charge (APC) is USD 150 (ejournal.uinsalatiga.ac.id).

Since August 2022, the following author fees have been applied:

  • Article Submission Fee:
    IDR 0. Authors are not required to pay any fee at the submission stage. This part of the APC is free.

  • Fast Track Review Fee:
    IDR 1,500,000 (≈ USD 95).
    This service is available for authors who wish to accelerate the publication process. By paying this fee, the review, editorial decision, and author notification are guaranteed within 7–8 weeks.
    ⚠️ This fee does not include publication costs.

    Steps for the Fast Track Review Process:

    1. Submit the full manuscript through the journal’s official website.

    2. An initial screening will be conducted to evaluate manuscript quality.

    3. If the manuscript is out of scope or of insufficient quality, it will be rejected. If it shows potential, authors may choose between Fast Track or Regular Track.

    4. For Fast Track, manuscripts may go through 2–3 rounds of revisions after the initial review.

    Important Notes:

    • No payment should be made during the initial submission process.

    • Wait for the editor’s decision regarding eligibility for Fast Track Review.

    • If selected, the manuscript will only proceed to publication after revisions are completed.

  • Article Publication Fee:

    • IDR 2,000,000 (for Indonesian authors).

    • USD 150 (for international authors).
      Once the paper is accepted, authors are required to complete and sign an Originality & Ethical Statement form and pay the publication fee.
      This fee covers proofreading costs.
      ⚠️ Accepted manuscripts will not be published until the publication fee has been paid in full.
