Complaints and Appeals Policy

1. Purpose and Scope

MILLATI is committed to handling complaints and appeals fairly, impartially, confidentially, and transparently. This policy applies to authors, reviewers, readers, and other parties raising concerns about the journal's editorial processes, conduct, publication ethics, or published content.

2. Complaints

Complaints may concern editorial delays, reviewer or editor conduct, conflicts of interest, procedural irregularities, or potential breaches of publication ethics. Complaints should be submitted in good faith, with a clear description of the concern and supporting information where available. Anonymous complaints may be considered when sufficient information is provided for assessment. Retaliation against individuals raising concerns in good faith will not be tolerated.

3. Appeals Against Editorial Decisions

Authors may appeal editorial decisions on grounds of significant procedural errors, factual misunderstandings, conflicts of interest, or material misinterpretation of their manuscripts. Appeals must explain the grounds for reconsideration and provide relevant supporting evidence. Disagreement with editorial judgment alone does not constitute sufficient grounds for an appeal. An appeal does not guarantee a change in the original decision.

4. Submission Procedure

Complaints and appeals should be submitted through the journal's official Contact page. Submissions should include the complainant's name and contact details, the manuscript or article title where applicable, a clear explanation of the concern, relevant dates, and supporting evidence.

5. Handling and Resolution

The editorial office will acknowledge submissions within 14 working days and assess the appropriate course of action. Complaints will be handled by an appropriately qualified, impartial, and non-conflicted person. Complaints involving the Editor-in-Chief will be referred to an independent representative of the publisher or host institution. The journal will communicate outcomes to the extent appropriate and provide updates when an investigation requires additional time. Confidentiality will be maintained as far as practicable throughout the process.

6. Outcomes and Related Policies

Depending on the circumstances, outcomes may include an explanation, procedural correction, further review, reconsideration of an editorial decision, referral for further investigation, or no further action. Concerns involving published articles will be addressed in accordance with the journal's Retraction, Withdrawal, and Correction (R-W-C) Policy, where applicable. Allegations of publication misconduct will be handled in accordance with the Publication Ethics policy.
