Article Processing Charges (APCs)

MILLATI: Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities is an open-access journal that charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for manuscripts accepted for publication. The APC supports the journal's publication and production processes.

1. Publication Fees

The applicable fees are as follows:

  • APC for Indonesian authors: IDR 2,500,000
  • APC for foreign authors: USD 250
  • Optional fast-track processing service: IDR 500,000

Additional fee for manuscripts in Bahasa Indonesia: Authors who wish to submit manuscripts in Bahasa Indonesia are required to pay an additional IDR 1,000,000 for translation and proofreading.

2. Payment Procedure and Extensions

No payment is required at the time of initial manuscript submission. The APC and any applicable additional fees become payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. Authors must complete the required payment within 30 calendar days of the invoice date, unless an extension has been approved by the editorial office.

Once payment has been confirmed, the manuscript will proceed to editorial preparation. During this stage, authors may be asked to make editorial corrections, language and proofreading adjustments, formatting changes, or other necessary revisions before the manuscript proceeds to final production.

Payment does not mean that the manuscript is immediately ready for publication. Authors are expected to cooperate with the editorial team and complete any required corrections within the specified deadlines. Publication will proceed only after the manuscript has completed the required editorial preparation and production procedures.

Authors experiencing financial difficulties or institutional payment delays should contact the editorial office before the payment deadline to request an extension. If payment is not received by the deadline and no extension or waiver has been approved, the journal may close the manuscript's publication process after notifying the corresponding author. Reinstatement may be considered at the journal's discretion.

3. Editorial Independence and Fast-Track Processing

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, independent peer review, and the journal's publication requirements. APC payment is a post-acceptance publication requirement and does not influence editorial decisions.

If fast-track processing is available, its fee and conditions will be communicated transparently. Fast-track processing does not exempt manuscripts from the journal's editorial requirements or peer review.

4. Letter of Acceptance (LoA) and Further Information

After completing the required payment, authors may request an official Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the editorial office.

Authors are encouraged to review the applicable publication fees before submitting a manuscript. For clarification regarding APCs, payment procedures, or the Letter of Acceptance (LoA), authors may contact the editorial office through the journal's Contact page.
