Plagiarism Policy

Indonesian Journal of Islamic Economics Research (IJIER) does not accept plagiarism in any form. Plagiarism is the use of another person's text, data, ideas, or results without proper acknowledgement, including self-plagiarism (reusing one's own published work without citation) and duplicate publication.

Similarity Check

Every submitted manuscript is checked using Turnitin at two stages: at initial screening before peer review, and again after revision before acceptance. The maximum similarity index accepted is 20%, excluding the reference list and quotations, with no more than 3% from a single source. Manuscripts above this limit are returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the extent of the similarity.

Actions on Plagiarism

Minor plagiarism: short sentences or phrases are copied without significant data or ideas from other works. The authors receive a warning and are asked to revise the text and cite the original sources properly.

Intermediate plagiarism: significant data, paragraphs, or sentences are copied without proper citation. The manuscript is rejected.

Severe plagiarism: a large portion of the manuscript, including results, data, ideas, or methods, is copied from other publications. The manuscript is rejected and the authors are not allowed to submit to IJIER for a period determined by the editorial board.

Plagiarism Found After Publication

If plagiarism is identified in a published article, the journal will investigate following the COPE guidelines. Depending on the outcome, the article may be corrected or retracted as described in the Correction and Retraction Policy, and the authors' institution may be informed.
