Allegation of research misconduct
Indonesian Journal of Islamic Economics Research (IJIER) takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously and handles them following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
What Counts as Research Misconduct
Research misconduct includes fabrication or falsification of data, plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, authorship disputes (including guest, ghost, or gift authorship), undisclosed conflicts of interest, unethical research involving human participants, citation manipulation, and manipulation of the peer review process.
How to Report
Anyone may report a concern about a submitted or published article by emailing [email protected]. The report should include the article title or DOI, a description of the concern, and any supporting evidence. The identity of the person reporting will be kept confidential.
How Allegations Are Handled
- The Editor in Chief acknowledges the report and makes an initial assessment of whether the concern is substantiated.
- If the concern needs further investigation, the authors are informed and given the opportunity to respond.
- Where needed, the editor consults reviewers, editorial board members, or the authors' institution.
- The editor decides on the action to be taken and informs all parties involved.
Possible Outcomes
Depending on the findings, the journal may reject the manuscript, request revisions, publish a correction, issue an expression of concern, or retract the article, as described in the Correction and Retraction Policy. In serious cases, the authors' institution may be notified and the authors may be barred from submitting to the journal for a period determined by the editorial board.
